Alan Looney is the founder & president of Castle Homes and has a well-established reputation based on more than 18 years of building excellence.

Looney’s achievements have been accomplished as he intertwines his industrial engineering background and cost analysis experience to create a synergy of impeccable detail and quality for Castle Homes’s custom building and neighborhood developments.

Named Southern Living magazine’s 2012 Custom Builder of the Year for his work producing the Nashville Southern Living Showcase Home, this honor helped land Castle Homes the prestigious build of the nation’s only 2013 Southern Living Idea House at Fontanel in Nashville – the magazine’s most ambitious build to date. Other accolades include the Southern Living Cornerstone Award for Outstanding Leadership in 2014, and Music City’s 2014 Best Custom Home Builder.  Most recently, Castle Homes was honored to help partner with the Nashville Symphony to build and host the Nashville Symphony Showhouse Event in 2015, which provided valuable support for the Nashville Symphony’s ongoing work throughout Middle Tennessee.

Castle Homes previously earned top honors for the home building industry’s Parade of Homes “People’s Choice – Best of Show.”

Looney also received a preservation award by the Metro Historical Commission and was the Custom Home Builder winner for the “2009, 2011, 2012,2013 & 2014 – Tennessean -Toast of Music City Awards.”

Unique to the industry, the design-build process of Castle Homes successfully implements meticulous pre-construction planning, comprehensive budgeting, combined with the latest in client interfacing web technology to produce master craftsman, heirloom quality homes.   

Currently, there are nine employees at Castle Homes including a team of degreed and experienced construction managers and interior designers.  Looney’s company Castle Homes typically designs and builds twelve to fifteen homes annually plus several remodeling and addition projects for homeowners.

Projects have included the English country-inspired neighborhood, Arundel Court, which is in the heart of Green Hills. Showcased in “The Living Green In Green Hills Show House,” the exclusive Arundel Court community was open for tours to benefit the Ronald McDonald House as was the 2011 Southern Living Showcase Home Castle Homes produced in Brentwood’s pretty Dorset Park neighborhood.
